Have you ever tried combining two things that you love and realized they’re so great together you wondered why you hadn’t combined them sooner?
Much like chocolate and peanut butter, or wine and cheese, there are some things that, while amazing on their own, are even better together!
The same can be said of Redken Shades EQ and Color Gels! These two color options are popular independently because they yield incredible results, but when used together, these lines become the perfect pair to complete the Redken Color Mantra!
By using permanent color like Color Gels on Zone 1 and Shades EQ on Zones 2-3, you can maximize color results and minimize stress on the hair!
We asked some of our Redken Artists why they love using the two together. See below for some of their favorite tips, tricks, and hacks for using ShadesEQ + Color Gels!
“I love that Color Gels and Shades EQ Gloss are both on the traditional level system! It makes refreshing my formulas so much easier. I most frequently use the pair by retouching my vibrant red clients with Color Gels and then glossing their ends. Because Shades EQ Gloss has a translucent finish, I never have to worry about over depositing, so my reds stay nice and bright,” said Redken Artist Shannon Van fleet, who is known for her ever-bright candy reds!
“I love to use Color Gels for my Zone 1 touch up, and Shades EQ on the ends to add extra shine or refresh the color”, said Redken Artist Jaclyn Harwood. “I also love the polished look Shades EQ gives after every Color Gels service and the healthy shine it adds to the hair”.
When asked why she thinks Color Gels and Shades EQ formulas make the perfect pair, Redken Artist Sami Skinner said, “Color Gels provide such wonderful grey coverage with permanent results while Shades EQ refreshes the ends with its acidic formula to ensure brilliant shine. Together they are a perfect pair for my rich brunettes and fiery redheads!”
