4 Firsts with Redken Artist Sean Godard
From experimenting with haircolor to creating signature looks all his own (hello, rose gold trend), Sean Godard has mastered the art of hair color and become an inspiration to stylists everywhere. His unique and colorful patterns are revolutionary, and have made him a fixture backstage at fashion and hair shows for the better part of the last decade.
So what inspires the Godard to create his works of art? “Helping people see the change, whether in themselves for their look if I'm doing hair, or helping them grow if I'm teaching,” he says. “It has changed over time, because in the beginning it was more ego driven, but then you realize if you drop your ego and just help people. It makes your job a lot easier.”
Like all stylists, Godard had to start somewhere, so we asked him to share some of his milestone “firsts” from early in his career. Read on to learn how the legendary colorist grew into the world-renowned Redken ambassador so many of us look up to today.
