As a leader in creativity and education for the beauty and fashion industries, Rodney Cutler cultivates and shapes today’s foremost trends.  When Emma Watson wanted to redefine herself, she turned to Rodney for the transformation.  Her iconic Mia Farrow-inspired cut was a breathe of fresh air, but remained true to Rodney’s mantra of “Sexy Healthy Hair.”  The widely known and acclaimed look catapulted Emma to become one of today’s style icons. With a constant eye on fashion and style, Rodney has become her exclusive stylist, collaborating with her as she continues to evolve her image.  His celebrity clientele includes Naomi Watts, Rachael Ray, Jamie King, Gavin DeGraw and Jordin Sparks, among others.

Despite being one of today’s most sought after stylists, Rodney has stayed true to form.  His passion for hair and sincere personality continue to shine through in his work – from the set up of his laid back, welcoming salons to his talented, friendly team.  Leaving his birthplace of Australia for the bright lights of New York City in 1992, Rodney found a home with cutting-edge Bumble and bumble Salon where he rapidly rose to be one of their top stylists.  In 2001, Rodney decided it was time to make his mark on the hair industry and opened his own salon that focused on making each client’s interaction unique and personalized.  With three salons in New York City (Fifth Avenue, Soho, and Gansevoort Park Avenue) and a salon in Brooklyn each location incorporates the brand’s signature stripes exuding Rodney’s vibrant and enthusiastic energy, while still maintaining a warm, open feel.

Hairdressers from around the world are drawn to Rodney’s charming and genuine personality. He leads a talented, unpretentious staff of 150, of which 30 are editorial stylists consistently working on cover shoots and fashion spreads.  Further establishing Cutler as the go-to source for all things fashion, Rodney Cutler and his innovative team of stylists create the hottest styles on the runways, working on more than 20 top shows each season at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.  Head turning looks have been created by Rodney and his team at Nicole Miller, Rebecca Taylor, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Badgley Mischka, Betsey Johnson, Tory Burch, Brian Reyes, Toni Maticevski, Tadashi Shoji and many more.  Rodney’s versatile style and tremendous knowledge-base lends itself well to men and women, further evidenced by his role as Contributor for both Esquire magazine and Rachael Ray’s official website.  Likewise, both Redken and ULTA enlist him as a spokesperson.

Even though Rodney is constantly in demand, he makes time for his other passions.  Waking up every morning at 5 am to run, bike or swim, Rodney is a man of discipline and his hard work is evident in the multiple Triathlon’s Iron Man and Marathons he has under his belt.  He dedicates his time to charitable work as the Board of Directors for Shoe4Africa (www.shoe4Africa.org).  In 2010, Rodney ran 250 miles (about 40 miles a day) from the port of Mombasa to the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro as part of the Cutler and Shoe4Africa ‘Sea to the Stars’ event to build the first-ever public children’s hospital in Kenya.  Despite his busy schedule, Rodney is a family man and helps to raise two boys with his wife Linda, who have all become avid Australian Rules Football fans.
